FAQs - Policies

  • If your photos are for personal use, such as portraits or wedding photos, you have an exclusive limited use license, which means you can post, print, display, and share them. You may crop or alter your photos and you have no obligation to credit me when you post to social media: I trust that you’ll want to refer me to friends and family without burdening you with a request to tag me in each post. This license will be provided to you in the contract we’ll agree upon during the booking process. See a sample contract HERE.

If your photos are for commercial use, I typically grant an exclusive limited license. We can discuss terms and conditions to meet your needs and establish a contract during the consultation process.

  • Please contact me ASAP and we will reschedule the Session. Rescheduling is completely free.

  • The Booking Deposit is 50% of the total cost of the Session and is due once we have scheduled a date/time for your session.

The purpose of this deposit is to secure your Session and allows you to reschedule if you need to.

  • The Booking Deposit is only refundable if the photographer needs to cancel the Session in the case of illness, emergency, disaster, etc.

  • You or I may reschedule due to bad weather, such as heavy rain or high winds that would be prohibitive to desired aesthetic of the Session.

Severe weather that inhibits travel, such as snow, ice, or storms, will necessitate that we reschedule.

Overcast skies or intermittent rain can typically be mitigated with some creative solutions and I would generally advise proceeding with the Session.

  • You may request edits to a photo up to two times within 30 days of delivery and I will try to accommodate your feedback as best as I can at my discretion.

FAQs - General

  • Photos are delivered digitally through an online, password-protected gallery. You’ll receive the link and login info to your private album via email and/or text. You can always contact me for assistance accessing or navigating the gallery.

If you purchase prints, they typically take 2-3 weeks to be delivered. If you need prints delivered urgently after your session, please let me know ASAP so I can expedite your order as best I can.

  • I’ll store your photos on a physical hard drive for 90 days and in the online gallery indefinitely.

Because “indefinitely” depends on the lifetime of my business and that of the online platforms I use, I would strongly recommend making your own physical and cloud-based copies.

I also offer photo delivery on archival M-DISCs for $20. These discs avoid the potential mechanical failures and data degradation common in other storage solutions—the only real downside is that you’ll need a computer with a compatible disc drive to view or copy the photos.

  • Here are two suggestions that apply to nearly every kind of photo session:

    • Dress comfortably: this makes striking poses easier and you’ll look your most natural if you aren’t fighting your outfit.

    • Avoid clothing with patterns: these are more likely to conflict with the background or distract from you, the subject.

We can talk about more specific details, like color or layers, before your session during the Planning Meeting.

If your session includes a wardrobe change, you can use the nearest suitable facility or make use of the provided changing tent.
